School of Law to Hold a Joint Internship Debrief and Community Outreach at Gulu University

The School Law Makerere University and  Gulu University are scheduled to hold  a joint community outreach during which the students from the two institutions will hold a debrief session following the successful completion of a two month Internship program that was conducted in the refugee camps in Northern Uganda from June to August 2019.  Internship is one of the mandatory activities undertaken by the University to expose students to practical hands on training in the field relevant to the course of study.

The joint outreach event to be held from the 11th to 13th September in Gulu University comes up as one of the activities planned to finalise this year’s internship activities that were supported by the Refugee Law Project where twenty students from both Makerere and Gulu University participated.

The students did their field activities in the Districts of Lamwo, Adjumani and Moyo Refugee Settlements.  While there, they undertook a number of activities hence the need for the internship debrief session to learn and share experiences from their engagements.  The event would also help the organisers to evaluate the extent of relevance of the programme and any challenges faced.
The participants will include the students, facility from both Gulu and Makerere University as well as staff from Refugee Law Project.
