Eligibility

Candidates seeking to join the LL.B programme must sit and pass the Bachelor of Law Pre-entry Exam administered by the University. The following categories of candidates are eligible to sit the exam, which they have to pass with 50% as the pass mark.

Assessment :

Each course is assessed in two parts on the basis of 100 total marks (except Field Attachment) with a proportion of coursework (progressive Assessment) which contributes 30% of the Total marks and written final examination which contributes 70%. The pass-mark for each course is 50% and there is no provision for compensation.

Tuition Fees :

The management of the Makerere University released the School Undergraduate Fee Structure to be paid by each undergraduate.

Fieldwork Attachment

All students in their third year are required to engage in field attachment to get practical experience. The attachment is with Government departments, Local Governments, Public institutions, Private sector enterprises, law firms or Non-government organizations. The attachment lasts 8 weeks. The students are expected to submit a Field Attachment Report at the end of the fieldwork attachment.
