School of Law BLC Students at the Jenga Haki Lab Programme 2023

The Makerere University School of Law (SoL) Business Law Clinic (BLC) students were among several innovators who were selected to participate in innovating justice solutions for Uganda through the Jenga Haki Lab Uganda Programme 2023. The Jenga Haki Lab Uganda Programme 2023 is a 4-week ideation program organized by HiiL Innovation Hub – East Africa. The participants presented their ideas, engaged in training sessions on product development and project management, and refined their solutions. The goal of the training was to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to tackle societal issues and create positive change through technology-based innovations.

The program focuses on justice innovation and using technology to address land justice problems in Uganda. Participants, including the BLC students, came together to develop innovative solutions through workshops and team collaborations. The program started with the Jenga Haki Weekend, a two-day event on Friday 12th May 2023 and Saturday 13th May 2023 at Innovation Village, Ntinda.

The BLC team consisted of three third year students, Walter Hillary Kaijamahe, Mercy Amumpiire Mulumba and Arnold Kabigumira, who came first among 12 teams which will proceed to the next level of programme.
