The public Interest Law Clinic at the School of Law Makerere University celebrates five years of its existence under the theme “Five years of promoting public interest lawyering for social justice”. In commemoration of this achievement a series of events have been lined up as listed below;
Legal Aid Camps in the various halls of residence at Campus will take place on Wednesday 30th August starting at 9am. These will be led by the Legal Aid Unit of PILAC together with volunteer lawyers and Advocates from mostly our alumni. There will also be a final Legal Aid Camp in the School of Law gardens on Thursday 31st August from 9:00am to 12 noon.
A mega Public Lecture on Legal Education under the theme: “Beyond the Ivory Tower: Legal Education in the 21st Century” will be held in the School of Law gardens on Thursday 31st August at 2pm. We are expecting prominent speakers including our own Principal, Dr. Christopher Mbazira, the Dean Faculty of Law, UCU, Dr. Anthony Kakooza and our Alumnus Ms. Akullo Godiva to grace the public lecture.
