Honoring Mak School of Law Students for winning the 2024 National Rounds of Jessup Moot Court Competitions
Jessup is the world’s largest and oldest Moot Court Competition dedicated to International Law, with participants from over 550 law schools in more than 80 countries. The Makerere university (Mak) Law School will represent Uganda in the upcoming Global rounds – 2024 Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, scheduled for 1st August, 2024, in Washington DC, United States of America. This follows the recent victory attained in the Uganda National Rounds of the Jessup Moot Competition, held on 13th January, 2024, from Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU). Mak Law School was represented by: Harry Mwesigwa, Nayiga Tracy Hilda, Birungi Primah Elizabeth, Ankunda Mellissa and Kalinda Jamada Musa, all of whom are law students at the School.
Following the victory in the National Jessup Moot Court Rounds, the School management organized a luncheon event in honor of students for winning the National Rounds of the Jessup Moot Court Competitions. The luncheon event was held on 16th Jan 2024, from the Human Rights and Peace Centre (HURIPEC) Boardroom. The event was attended by the Principal School of Law, his Deputy, heads of departments and students.
During the Luncheon event, the Principal School of Law, Prof. Ronald Naluwairo appreciated the students for raising the Makerere University flag high, and also presented the congratulatory message from Top Management.
