Kentaro Grace Maria Ariho

Qualifications: Dip. L.P. (LDC), BA (Mak); MA (Mak) PhD (Mak,)

Dr Kentaro holds a PhD in Gender Studies, a Master of Arts Degree in Gender Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences all from Makerere University. Kentaro has been a Lecturer and Researcher for more than 10 years. She is currently a Lecturer of Research Methods for both Undergraduate and Post graduate at the School of Law Makerere University.  

She is a member of the African Initiative of Women Human Rights Defenders (WHRDI) in Johannesburg, South Africa. Kentaro has written articles on Gender issues, reviewed various books and published on Gender and Maternal Health, Climate Change and Early Childhood Development, Gender and the Law, Gender, Culture and sustainable development.

Kentaro’s academic journey has been influenced by her wish to see that women and girls’ rights are protected and recognized. She also wishes to see a  society where women and girls enjoy their social justice hence recognizing their contribution in society and being liberated from patriarchal norms and practices.
