David J. Bakibinga

Professor Bakibinga has taught Legal System, Law of Contract, Company Law, Equity & Trusts, Commercial Law, Insurance Law and partnership law to Undergraduate law students, Legal Aspects of Business to MBA students at the Eastern & Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI), Revenue Law & Taxation, Intellectual Property Law and Law of International Trade to LL.M students.
He has also supervised over 30 graduate students in the areas, inter alia, of corporate governance, corporate rescue, corporate taxation, local government taxation and rates, acquisition and mergers, patents, double taxation, regional integration and harmonization of tax laws, value added tax, electronic transactions law, money laundering, microfinance, patenting of GMOs.
Professor Bakibinga is the author of 17 books including Nigerian Law of Partnership, Law of Trusts in Nigeria, Company Law in Uganda, Law of Contract in Uganda, Revenue Law in Uganda, Equity and Trusts in Uganda, Partnership Law in Uganda, Commercial Law in a Liberalised Economy: The Case of Uganda, Intellectual Property Law in East Africa, Property and Trust Law in Uganda, Uganda: Transport Law, Business Law: Study Law Pack 4, Company Law in East Africa and numerous scholarly articles.
Professor Bakibinga is former Head, Department of Law, University of Ilorin, Nigeria, Dean of Law at Ogun State University, Nigeria and Makerere University, respectively, and also previously served as Director, School of Graduate Studies (now Directorate of Research and Graduate Training (DRGT) and Deputy Vice Chancellor, Makerere University. He is a Fellow, respectively of the Uganda Academy of Sciences, African Academy of Sciences and the World Academy of Sciences.
