PILACClinical Legal Education
Re-established in 2012, the Public Interest Law Clinic seeks to equip young law students with skills in Public Interest litigation that had prior been interrupted by the 1970's political turmoil in the country. Prior to the chaos, it was the best Legal Clinic in Africa.
The program consistent of a Clinical Legal Education module where students are skilled in social justice and non-profit seeking litigation.
With a Vision of creating a breed of lawyers alive to the social justice needs of the people and a mission to promote social justice through building strategic partnerships, the Law Clinic has attracted many students who become a part of the fight through voluntary community outreaches, prison visits and talks, public lectures, among other things.
With both senior and junior lawyers as their guides, PILAC students take with them the fundamental mission of the legal system; Equity, Justice and an undying spirit to preach the same!
The club is determined to engage with the rule of law topic beyond what is traditionally offered by law school and also involve more people especially students from other colleges.
