Dr. Ronald Naluwairo

Dr. Ronald Naluwairo: PhD (London); LLM (Cambridge); LLB (Upper class), Makerere; Dip L.P (LDC).

Dr. Ronald Naluwairo is a Senior Lecturer and Ag. Deputy Principal at the School of Law, Makerere University. He is an academic, policy analyst and development practitioner.  He has extensive experience: teaching at university level; conducting legal and policy research; organizing and conducting specialized trainings; facilitating processes involving multi-stakeholder engagements; and project planning, management, monitoring and evaluation.  Over the years, he has taught, supervised and mentored many students.  He has consulted for a number of national and international organizations and has served on a number of Government and civil society organizations’ committees.

Dr. Naluwairo has a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree from Makerere University, a Master of Laws degree from the University of Cambridge, a PhD from SOAS, University of London, and a Diploma in Legal Practice from Law Development Centre. His major areas of research interest and teaching are: the Law on Use of Force and Armed Conflicts; the Law of Treaties; Military Justice & Human Rights; Public International Law; International and Regional Human Rights; and Natural Resources Governance. He has published many scholarly articles and policy working papers on topical issues in these areas.
