Lawyers ask government to pilot schools re-opening

 

Over 2,000 students are today set to sit for the Makerere university pre-entry exams to qualify for bachelor of law studies.

The exams test the students’ logic, reading, comprehension, language and numerical skills, general knowledge and analytical writing skills.

The pass mark is 50%.

For one to qualify to sit the pre-entry exams, they must have obtained at least 15 points at A-Level. The female students will still have an advantage owing to the 1.5 points for affirmative action.

MUK Law School suspends evening classes

Makerere University School of Law has suspended evening classes until management resolves the issue of salaries and lectures absenteeism.

According to the notice issued by the Principal of the School on January 23rd 2018, the board meeting that sat on 9th decided to suspend teaching on evening program until the university management addresses concerns regarding the services offered by the staff on that program.

The Law school’s Public Relations Officer Harriet Musinguzi has confirmed the development saying the suspension takes immediate effect.
